Dan Peters, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who has devoted his career to the
assessment, consultation and treatment of children, adolescents and families, specializing
in those who are gifted and twice-exceptional. He helps parents and teachers engage
children in the classroom, at home, and in life so they can realize their full potential. Dr.
Peters will describe the characteristics of gifted learners and factors that can influence or
hinder their development. He will also provide strategies to avoid pitfalls and ensure
maximum growth and life satisfaction.
Dr. Peters is a member of the California Association for the Gifted Advisory Board, Supporting
Emotional Needs of Gifted Editorial Board, serves as co-chair of the Assessments of Giftedness
Special Interest Group of the National Association for Gifted Children, and is co-founder and
Executive Director of the Summit Center.
