Significant Objects from Our War of Independence:

These are the shells the British Leader,  William Howe mentioned in his journal of the events that occurred at Bunker Hill.  He had stepped on these when firing his musket and missed his mark. He was wounded from colonial return fire so had to be taken back to the ship.

At the time of the Revolutionary War, letters were the only way to communicate with those you missed.   This old letter was found at Valley Forge. It was written by William Duncan to his wife during that terrible winter when Colonial forces kept the British in Philadelphia from foraging into the country side.
