Gifted Schedules: 2021-2022

The gifted program at Eagle Ridge utilizes a cluster grouping model for primary grades. This enables teachers to better differentiate for all students so that optimal learning can occur. Eagle ridge's pull out program focuses on Reading  and Math for fifth and sixth grades.

At Palomino Intermediate I work with 4th and 6th grades in Reading. 5th grade is instructed in math.

While stressing the Arizona's state standards, students are instructed using higher level thinking skills that foster engagement in every subject.

Virtual Gravity Powered Derby Race

The 5th grade reading class really got into the spirit of this race.  They had to design a track 3 feet long and 10 inches tall to race their cars on.  During the class Webex session, each car was timed by Mr. Pantera.  These are pictures of the participants from last place to first (the difference from last to first was only 94 hundredth of a second!):

Sixth Place

                                                                     Fifth Place

Fourth Place
Third Place
Tie for Second Place.          The First Place car.!

They were trying to get a feel for how the main character of the story "Spit Nolan" might have felt when he raced his downhill cart.
